To honor the 50 states, the U.S. Mint has issued quarters depicting a unique design representing the history of each state. Five quarters will be issued each year, in the order that the states joined the union. Volume Eight features quarters released through 2006 honoring Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota and South Dakota. A new volume of the set will be introduced each year.
